MATERIALS LIST

 

FABRIC:

Please cut the following strips, selvage to selvage across the width of the fabric,  (strips will be approximately 40” in length)  before coming to class:

Red: One 4-1/2” strip

Beige or Pale Green: One 1” strip

Dark Green: One 1-1/2” strip

Light Background: One 4” strip

 

Additionally, bring fabric for:

Alternate Wedges: 3/8 yard

Corner Triangles: 6” x 12” piece

First Border: 1/8 yard

Second Border: 1/2 yard

Batting: 30” x 30” low-loft poly or cotton batting

Backing: 30” x 30” piece

Fabric to make approximately 120 inches of binding.

 

TOOLS:

Rotary cutting equipment:

Rotary cutting mat, at least 17” x 23”

Rotary cutter

6” x 24” acrylic cutting ruler, such as Omnigrid or Salem

45 Degree Kaleidoscope Wedge Ruler(TM) by Doheny Publications* Pins and extra sewing machine needles

Seam ripper

Thread to blend with fabrics

Bobbin prewound with above thread

Scissors or thread snips

Sewing machine, cleaned, oiled and ready to sew!

 

*If you choose to use another brand of ruler, make sure it measures at least 9-1/4” tall

and that both lower corner angles are 45 degrees.
